(IDEX Online) - The owner of a US jewelry store is offering a $50,000 reward to help catch the armed gang that cleared him out of merchandise worth $1.7m.
Brad Boozer says he'll pay the reward from his own pocket. It's been more than a month since the heist at Boozer's Jewelers, in Waco, Texas, on 17 June.
Two masked raiders, a man and a woman, walked into his store with a gun, zip-tied two employees, and emptied the display cases of jewelry and as many as 25 Rolex watches.
"It's been 30 days and we're at the mercy of insurance investigators, and police investigators," Boozer told the TV station KWTX. "We're hoping, maybe, this interview and these pictures will turn somebody up."
He said over 90 per cent of his inventory was stolen. The store has since re-opened, operating at about 25 per cent of its merchandise capacity.
