Rebar market in Southern Europe flattens amid subdued activity

Steel rebar prices have been broadly stable in Southern Europe over the past week despite a slowdown in market activity.

But producers continue to mull another price increase before Christmas, source told Fastmarkets on Wednesday November 17.
Fastmarkets' assessment of the price of steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, delivered Southern Europe was ?,?770-790 ($874-897) per tonne on Wednesday, widening from ?,?765-800 per tonne last week.
Italy
Rebar offers from Italian mills were heard at ?,?490-500 per tonne ex-works, which is essentially unchanged from last week.
With the addition of extras for 12mm material, the price would be the equivalent of ?,?755-765 per tonne ex-works or ?,?775-790 per tonne delivered.
