Regulator Halts BlueRock Mining Operations

RAPAPORT... South Africa's Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) hassuspended operations at BlueRock Diamonds' Kareevlei mine after a machinery accident. The mining regulator issued a formal complaint regarding BlueRock's use of its trackless mining machines, thecompany said last week. BlueRock, which has since met with the DMR to discuss thematter, is in the process of amending its code of practice to comply with theregulator's standards, it said.
