Retail Earnings, Jobs Data Headline First Full Week of March

Target and Kohl's are just two of the retailers reporting earnings

The first full week of March features a little bit of everything for Wall Street. February's highly anticipated jobs report will put a stamp on the week on Friday, and the last batch of earnings stragglers includes retailers Target (TGT), Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF), Urban Outfitters (URBN), and Kroger (KR). After President Donald Trump extended the March 1 tariff deadline with China, trade talks between the two global superpowers should remain front and center.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

On Monday, March 4, the week kicks off with data on motor vehicles sales and construction spending. There will also be earnings reports from Ctrip.com (CTRP) and Salesforce.com (CRM).

Tuesday, March 5, will feature Markit's PMI services index, new home sales data,the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) non-manufacturing index, and the Treasury budget. Boston Fed President Eric Rosengren will speak in the morning. As far as earnings, AeroVironment (AVAV), Ambarella (AMBA), Ciena (CIEN), Kohl's (KSS), Target (TGT), United Natural Foods (UNFI), Urban Outfitters (URBN), and Weibo (WB) are all slated.

The ADP employment report is due on Wednesday, March 6, as well as data on mortgage applications, international trade, weekly crude inventories, and the Fed's Beige Book. Cleveland Fed President Loretta Mester will speak. Quarterly earnings from Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF), Baozun (BZUN), Dollar Tree (DLTR), Yext (YEXT) are also due.

Thursday, March 7, is highlighted byweekly jobless claims, productivity and costs data, the Fed's balance sheet, and consumer credit report. Plus, American Outdoor Brands (AOBC), Barnes & Noble (BKS), Burlington Stores (BURL), Costco (COST), El Pollo Loco (LOCO), Eventbrite (EB), GNC Holdings (GNC), H & R Block (HRB), Kroger (KR), and Marvell Technology (MRVL) all step into the earnings confessional.

The week ends Friday, March 8, with February's nonfarm payrolls report and the Baker-Hughes rig count. Navistar (NAV) will report earnings.
