Flat steel suppliers to Russia's Central Federal District around Moscow are insisting on higher prices due to the uptrend in the export market, sources told Fastmarkets on Monday November 23.

Hot-rolled sheet
Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled (HR) sheet, domestic, cpt Moscow, Russia was at 45,000-48,000 roubles ($590-629) per tonne including 20% value-added tax on Monday September 14, up from 43,500-44,000 roubles per tonne a week earlier.
Domestic producers increased offers for December material this week on a stronger export market and shortage of material in the market, sources said.

Severstal, one of the key suppliers to the region, was targeting 49,400 roubles per tonne for December tonnages, up from 46,500 roubles per tonne for November material, but the price was not included in the assessment because buyers considered it too high.
