RUSSIA FLAT STEEL: Offers up on low availability despite no demand improvement

Flat steel suppliers to Russia's Central Federal District around Moscow increased offers for material, citing reduced availability, while in the secondary market there were no reports of improved demand, Fastmarkets learned on Monday February 3.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled sheet, domestic, cpt Moscow, Russia was 41,000-42,500 roubles ($643-659) per tonne on February 3, including 20% VAT, widening upward from 41,000 roubles per tonne a week before.

In mid-January, Novolipetsk Steel, one of the major suppliers to the region, increased HR sheet prices to 42,000 roubles per tonne cpt for stockists. Severstal, another principle flats supplier to the region, increased its HR sheet price to 42,500 roubles per tonne cpt. Previous offers...
