RUSSIA FLAT STEEL: Prices continue incline on shortage, rising exports

Domestic flat steel prices in Russia's Central Federal District around Moscow continued to rise in the week to Tuesday December 29 due to a shortage of material, strong export market prices and higher buying activity, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled (HR) sheet, domestic, cpt Moscow, Russia was 58,000 roubles ($785) per tonne including 20% value-added tax on Monday, narrowing upward from 55,500-58,000 roubles per tonne a week earlier and at a Fastmarkets' record high.
One stockist said his purchase price for January HR sheet was 58,000 roubles per tonne, up from 55,000 roubles per tonne paid for December tonnages previously.
