RUSSIA FLAT STEEL: Prices fall further on weak demand

Prices for hot- and cold-rolled steel sheet and heavy plate in Russia's Central Federal District around Moscow continued to slide in the week ended Monday August 16, sources have told Fastmarkets.

Market participants believed that the downward trend would continue until the end of October.
Hot-rolled sheet
Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled sheet, domestic, cpt Moscow, Russia, was 89,000-92,000 roubles ($1,211-1,251) per tonne on August 16, including 20% value-added tax. This was down by 3,000 roubles per tonne from 92,000-95,000 roubles per tonne a week earlier.
The assessment reflected mills' official offers, and deals and achievable prices reported by market sources.
