RUSSIA REBAR: Prices rise despite difficulties in passing on increases

Offer prices for domestic steel rebar in Russia's Central Federal District around Moscow increased as expected this week, although buyers said it was hard to pass them on to downstream customers, sources said on Monday October 19.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, cpt Moscow, Russia was 40,000-41,000 roubles ($514-527) per tonne on October 19, including 20% VAT, widening upward from 40,000 roubles per tonne a week earlier.
