RUSSIA REBAR: Prices soar on tight availability, strong exports

The domestic steel rebar price in Russia's Central Federal District around Moscow has jumped in the week to Monday December 14, pushed by shortages and strong export markets, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, cpt Moscow, Russia was 55,000 roubles per tonne including 20% value-added tax on Monday, up from 42,000-44,000 roubles per tonne last week.
Buying activity in the region was moderate, considering rapid and sharp price growth and seasonally slower end-user demand.
