Russia's Sibanthracite to ship 1 mln tonnes of PCI via Capesize vessels in 2021

Russian metallurgical coal producer Sibanthracite Group intends to ship more than 1 million tonnes of coal in Capesize-class vessels from the Black Sea port of Taman in 2021, it said on Monday March 15.

The shipments will be intended to meet increased demand from customers in the Asia-Pacific region, primarily China. The large vessels will also ease the commercial pressure that is being exerted by rising freight costs, the company said.

The company has already made its first shipment of 160,000 tonnes of metallurgical coal with a Capesize-class bulk carrier. Capesize ships are the largest type...
