Satori Resources (TSXV:BUD) has received the permits needed to begin drilling at its wholly owned Tartan Lake gold mine near Flin Flon, Man. Work has already begun on repairing the access road, drilling tenders are out for quote, and technical staff is being hired.
The plans call for a 3,200-metre diamond drill program that targets the down-plunge continuation of the Main zone vein system. Satori noted that it has been 23 years since any significant drilling has been done on the property. Processing historic data with contemporary data techniques has generated new targets across numerous shear zones on the property.
Satori says it believes that in addition to increasing the mineral resources near the former mine, there are opportunities for additional discoveries along the unexplored shear zones.
The most recent mineral resource estimate - 1.2 million indicated tonnes grading 6.32 grams gold per tonnes plus 240,000 inferred tonnes at 4.89 grams gold - was made in 2017. There are about 240,000 oz. of gold in the indicated resource and 37,000 oz. in the inferred portion.
About 35,814 oz. of gold was recovered at Tartan Lake between 1987 and 1989. The property has infrastructure including a 450-tonnes per day mill, 2,100 metres of ramp, six underground levels of trackless development, a ventilation raise, a power grid connection, and surface mobile equipment.
