Seaborne iron ore concentrate and pellet prices increased in the week to Friday July 5, propelled by the recent surge in iron ore fines values.

ConcentrateThe weekly Fastmarkets index for iron ore 66% Fe concentrate, cfr Qingdao was $125.12 per tonne on July 5, up by $2.09 per tonne week on week.The daily Fastmarkets index for iron ore 65% Fe Brazil-origin fines, cfr Qingdao, averaged $131.06 per tonne last week compared with an average of $126.82 per tonne a week earlier.The price movement was based on the visible market activity detailed below, which was included in the index calculation according to the published methodology.
