Seaborne iron ore concentrate prices stable, pellets move up

Seaborne iron ore concentrate prices made little movement last week although the price paid for iron ore pellets continued to move up while environmental restrictions on steelmaking operations in parts of China underpinned demand for the latter.

The weekly Fastmarkets MB 66% Fe Iron Ore Concentrate Index stood at $123.03 per tonne cfr China last Friday, moving down by $0.02 per tonne week on week.The daily Fastmarkets MB 65% Fe Iron Ore Index averaged $126.82 per tonne cfr China last week, compared with an average of $125.06 per tonne cfr China a week earlier.The price movement was based on the visible market activity detailed below, which was included in the index calculation according to the published methodology.
