Seaborne iron ore pellet transaction volumes and prices remained robust in the week ended Friday May 10, while the corresponding figures for iron ore concentrate remained weak.

PelletsThe weekly Fastmarkets MB 65% Fe Blast Furnace Pellet Index was $128.58 per tonne cfr China on May 10, up by $0.40 per tonne from a week earlier.A cargo of 64% Fe Indian Jindal pellet traded at $121-122 per tonne cfr, according to sources. This was up from $118-119 per tonne cfr a week earlier.Transactions were also heard for 64% Fe Indian Hira pellet with 2% alumina at $122-123 per tonne cfr, compared with a deal at $120.50 per tonne cfr heard in the preceding week.A new brand of Indian pellet for the China market, called Bajrang, with 64% Fe and 2% alumina, traded at $118 per tonne cfr for a June-loading cargo, ahead of China's May Day holiday break on May 1-4.
