SGL, a London-headquartered diamond grading laboratory, opened a new laboratory in New York City, with premises in the International Gem Tower on 47th Street in Manhattan's diamond district. The New York lab is the company's 16th location, with branches in India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
According to an SGL news release, all of the company's laboratories employ the same technology, methodology and protocols for detection, grading, authentication and certification.
With the New York laboratory SGL also announced the launch of its laboratory grown diamond screening instrument "Dia Screen" which not just screens for lab-grown diamonds but also for simulants such as moissanite and CZ. The Dia Screen is currently available for sale at SGL New York and will be launched soon across the laboratories worldwide network.
"I'm very excited to see the New York laboratory open. It demonstrates SGL's commitment to growth and expansion," commented Shirin Bandukwalla, Director, SGL Worldwide. "At SGL, we believe that successfully providing full-service solutions for our clients require more than just knowledge and expertise. Our commitment to excellence, combined with our mission to deliver outstanding service, has earned our company the reputation it holds today."
