The TSX Venture Exchange gained 11.67 points to 825.06 Monday. Jonathan Younie's Baetis Ventures Ltd. (BATS: $0.10) has listed, following a $200,000 initial public offering at 10 cents. It did not trade on the TSX-V, but on Pure Trading it opened at 16 cents and closed at 21 cents on 240,000 shares. There were two trades on Pure, both crosses by National Bank Financial Inc.

This is Mr. Younie's first capital pool shell, but he has shell experience. He is the chief financial officer of Paul Larkin's capital pool shell Gstaad Capital Corp. (GTD: halted), NEX shell Tyner Resources Ltd. (TIP: $0.35) and NEX shell Earl Resources Ltd. (ERL: $0.14). Mr. Younie is also the corporate finance manager at Mr. Larkin's Vancouver-based investment consulting firm, New Dawn Holdings Ltd. At Baetis, Mr. Younie holds one million escrowed shares. He is joined on the board by Joseph Martin, the accounting manager at New Dawn, and by Erin Walmesley, a paralegal with Owen Bird Law Corp. Mr. Larkin appears nowhere in Baetis's prospectus.
