The TSX Venture Exchange lost 1.97 points to 834.20 Thursday. Martin Burian's halted capital pool shell, Canvass Ventures Ltd. (CVS), plans to acquire Robin Leboe's Sessionwire Communications Inc. as its qualifying transaction. Sessionwire is designing software that will allow musicians to produce "better music" on-line. It hopes to launch its on-line studio in May. It will be available to users by monthly subscription. Trendy Sessionwire says it is also looking into using blockchain technology to help secure music rights and payment. In connection with the QT, Sessionwire will need to raise $2-million at 30 cents.
On closing, Canvass's directors plan to resign. The new board will comprise Mr. Leboe, Kevin Williams, Henk van Alphen, David Smith and Anton Drescher.Mr. Leboe is a musician and a Web developer. He spent seven years teaching Web development at the Art Institute of Vancouver; he also taught recording arts at a Vancouver high school. Mr. Williams is another music teacher. He also co-founded Vancouver's Nimbus School of Recording and Media.
