Singapore rebar import market stable on limited spot activity, weak demand

Prices for imported rebar in Singapore remained stable in the week to Monday October 12 due to no spot activity and limited demand from buyers, sources told Fastmarkets.

Offers for Turkish rebar fell by $5-10 per tonne to $465 per tonne cfr Singapore on a theoretical weight basis from $470-475 per tonne cfr Singapore the previous week.
The lower offers were due to falling scrap prices in Turkey, which saw another dip over the past week to below $280 per tonne cfr Turkey.
