Singapore rebar import prices steady

Import prices for rebar in Singapore were stable over the past week with transactions still being negotiated at levels similar to those a week earlier.

Metal Bulletin's assessment of import prices for rebar in Southeast Asia - which mainly looks at cargoes sold into Singapore on a theoretical weight basis - was $535-545 per tonne cfr for the week to Monday September 10, unchanged from the preceding week.Large quantities of Turkish and Qatari rebar were offered by traders at $540-550 per tonne cfr Singapore.At least 15,000 tonnes of Turkish rebar was offered at $550 per tonne cfr Singapore on a theoretical weight basis, while Qatari rebar was offered at $540 per tonne cfr Singapore.Market sources said deals were being negotiated at $540 per tonne cfr Singapore, though there was no word...
