RAPAPORT... Sotheby's has named two senior managers for its Asian jewelry division: Lisa Chow as deputy chairman, and Jessica Wyndham as department head. Chow (pictured), who has been with the company since 1990, will also maintain her current position as general manager and sales director forSotheby's Diamonds. In her new job, she will be responsible for providingstrategic guidance and building client relationships for the company's Asianjewelry auctions. Wyndham, who has worked at Sotheby's for seven years, will manage the jewelrydepartment in Asia, responsible for operations, getting new business, and sales strategies. She previously headed the company's London jewelry division. "We welcome two talented colleagues with immense experienceinto these critical roles for us in Asia," said Patti Wong, chairman ofSotheby's Asia and of Sotheby's Diamonds. "The market for jewelry, auctions andprivate sales are significant growth areas we are focusing on." Sotheby's recent jewelry hires are part of a plan to enhanceits expertise and sourcing capabilities in Asia, Wong added. Theseappointments, in addition to Chow and Wyndham, also include Laurence Nicolas,who joined in December as executive vice president and global managing directorof the auctioneer's jewelry and watch division. Both women will be based in Hong Kong.
