Sotheby's Auction Celebrates Fred Leighton

Sotheby's New York April sale will feature gems andartifacts from jeweler Fred Leighton's personal collection, theauction house said Monday.The event, which will take place April 18, includes jewelry pricedbetween $5,000 and $100,000. Furniture and decorative arts fromthe 17th to 20th centuries that Leighton accumulatedin his Manhattan home will also go under the hammerLeighton, who died last year, ran a successful estate-jewelry business that supplied to celebrities such as Kate Winslet, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lopez."The Jeweler's Eye" collection will be available for publicviewing from April 13 to 18 prior to the auction.
