RAPAPORT... Sotheby's will launch a new sale in October, exclusivelyhighlighting jewelry and watches from Parisian designers. The inaugural Joaillerie Paris sale will feature 19th-and 20th-century pieces from well-known French jewelry housesincluding Boucheron, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Pierre Sterl?(C).Sotheby's will also auction Art Deco jewels from the collection of dancer andfashion icon Zizi Jeanmaire, as well as an evening bag actor Alain Delon gave toactress and director Mireille Darc. Other notable pieces include a pear-shaped, 5.17-caratdiamond ring, signed by Cartier, estimated at EUR 250,000 to EUR 350,0000 ($290,640 to $406,900), and a 12.84-carat, deep-blue Kashmir sapphire ring by Chaumet,with a presale estimate of EUR 100,000 to EUR 200,000 ($116,260 to $232,510). A1960 Pierre Sterl?(C) brooch featuring diamonds, sapphires andsemiprecious stones, valued at EUR 30,000 to EUR 45,000 ($34,880 to $52,315), will also go under the hammer.
