SOUTHERN EUROPE REBAR: Prices continue to fall against cheap Turkish import offers

Prices for rebar produced and delivered in Southern Europe continued to soften this week while domestic mills attempted to combat buyer interest in imported metal, sources told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday September 19.

Metal Bulletin's weekly price assessment for domestic rebar in Southern Europe narrowed downward to ?,?530-545 ($619-637) per tonne delivered on Wednesday, compared with ?,?530-550 per tonne delivered on September 12.Prices were slipping because increasing numbers of low offers from Turkish producers were coming onto the Italian market.
