SOUTHERN EUROPE WIRE ROD: Prices largely stable, but mills mull increases

Domestic prices for steel wire rod in Southern Europe were largely unchanged over the past week, although producers were reported to be mulling an increase for May, Fastmarkets heard on Wednesday April 14.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel wire rod (mesh-quality), domestic, delivered Southern Europe, was ?,?660-670 ($787-798) per tonne on Wednesday, unchanged since March 31.
The assessment was based on deals, offers and achievable prices reported by market participants over the past seven days.
Italy
The Italian wire rod market was flat over the week, with the current price being supported by good demand, sources said.
