Peter Megaw, exhibits chair for the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society, describes the incredible specimens of gold, silver, diamonds and gems presented for the show's 60th Anniversary. Visitors can look forward to a diamond-encrusted tiara, sapphire buttons, and collaborative collector cases with precious metals from around the world. Gold, silver, and jewelry that survived the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center attack will be shown in a special area.The show is also receiving a face lift in its 60th year, with brand new display cases and a new floor plan that makes featured exhibits easier to find. Of course, the show is still educating students of every age, and will open their doors to nearly 5,000 schoolchildren on Friday, February 14.http://www.tgms.org/
