(IDEX Online) - Surat based STPL, which develops diamond industry technology solutions, said it took part in the recent Festival of Innovation organized by India's President's in association with Department of Science & Technology and the National Innovation Foundation-India.
This year's theme was Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE).
FINE is a celebration of country's innovation potential, particularly those ideas which stem from the grassroots level. "This is a unique initiative of the Office of the President of India to recognize, respect and reward grassroots innovations and foster a supportive ecosystem, STPL said in a statement.
In order to make the FINE more inclusive, in addition to grassroots innovators and innovators nominated by various ministries, the organizers invited leading innovators from the country to participate and present their innovations.
"STPL has been making headway in the field of ushering in an era of robotic and automation in the diamond industry and helping the nation stay at the forefront of this extremely demanding area of expertise. STPL has developed the diamond world's first robot, which makes the complicated aspects of diamond processing completely automated and error-free, thus helping the industry boost its production in terms of quantity and quality."
STPL exhibited its robotic technologies at FINE. Bhargav Kotadia, Executive Director, STPL, said, "As we are collectively striving to make our country a global super power, it is imperative that we recognize and encourage innovative initiatives and foster a conducive environment that boosts creative thinking.
