Syrah wants big second half from Balama

Syrah Resources (ASX: SYR) is aiming for the low end of 2018 production guidance of 160,000-180,000 tonnes of graphite, with 75% of that output expected in the second half of the year after a slow first quarter at the new Balama operation in Mozambique.

First quarter production totalled 11,200t, with improving flotation recoveries and higher plant throughput rates (post a fines dryer repair), now anticipated - including a maximum daily output of 470t achieved in April.
