Taiwanese scrap import prices firm on steady demand

Import prices for containerized heavy melting scrap (HMS) in Taiwan were largely stable week on steady end-user demand.

Metal Bulletin's assessment of import prices for United States-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) sold into Taiwan was $330-335 per tonne cfr for the week ended Friday June 22, up from $330-332 per tonne from a week earlier.The assessment reflects actual transactions concluded this week, during which US scrap was offered at $335-342 per tonne cfr Taiwan, compared with $335 per tonne last week.
