Tata Steel commissions carbon-capture plant for blast furnace gas

Tata Steel India has commissioned a carbon-capture plant at its Jamshedpur Works, as part of its goal to reduce emission and promote a circular carbon economy, the company said on Tuesday September 14.

The 5-tonnes-per-day carbon-capture plant makes Tata Steel the first steel company in India to adopt carbon-capture technology that extracts carbon dioxide directly from blast furnace gas.Tata Steel has chosen Carbon Clean as technological support for the project.The newly commissioned plant uses amine-based technology and makes the captured carbon available...
