Tata Steel Netherlands workers stage walkout; company says production unaffected

Workers of Tata Steel Netherlands started industrial action after their ultimatum expired and the company's management failed to reach consensus with their workers' representatives, trade union FNV Metaal said on Wednesday June 10.

Workers at the ore preparations of Tata Steel's Dutch asset in IJmiuden left their work at 2pm today local time, stating that Tata Steel failed to comply with their demands, according to FNV.
"From 2 pm this afternoon, workers at the ore preparation of Tata Steel in IJmuiden (the Netherlands) are on strike. This means that raw materials are no longer available for the blast furnaces, pellet factory and sinter factory, meaning these factories have to be adjusted or shut down," FNV said in a release.
