U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning. S&P 500 futures were up 19 points in pre-opening trade.

Bank of America added $0.78 to $40.60 after reporting higher than consensus first quarter revenues and earnings.

American Eagle Outfitters advanced $1.48 to $34.46 after the company projected higher than consensus first quarter sales and earnings.

Dell gained $7.70 to $100.40 after announcing plans to spin off its VMware division.

Costco added $1.01 to $364.18 after increasing its quarterly dividend from $0.70 to $0.79 per share.
