U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning. S&P 500 futures were up 57 points at 8:30 AM EDT.

Dow Jones Industrial Average ($INDU) is expected to open above intermediate resistance at 40,791.18 completing a double bottom pattern following release of better than consensus quarterly results after the close yesterday by Microsoft and Meta Platforms.

Microsoft advanced $34.24 to $429.50 after reporting higher than consensus fiscal third quarter results.

Meta Platforms gained $25.24 to $574.25 after reporting higher than consensus first quarter results.

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CP.TO $Cdn100.13) is expected to open higher after reporting higher than consensus first quarter results.

Starbucks $SBUX a Dow Jones Industrial Average stock moved below $76.15 extending an intermediate downtrend.

Charter Communications $CHTR a NASDAQ 100 stock moved above $391.61 resuming an intermediate uptrend.

Canadian bank stocks led the advance by TSX in late trading yesterday. BMO Equal Weight Canadian Banks ETF (ZEB.TO) moved above intermediate resistance at Cdn$40.78.

Power Corp. (POW.TO) a TSX 60 stock moved above Cdn$52.09 to an all-time high extending an intermediate uptrend.
