Pre-opening Comments for Thursday September 30th

U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning. S&P 500 futures were up 17 points at 7:00 AM EDT

U.S. equity index futures were waiting for release of an updated annualized second quarter real GDP growth report at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus is unchanged from the previous estimate at 6.6%.

Today is a partial holiday in Canada. The Toronto Exchange is open, but federally regulated services are closed.

Starbucks added $0.23 to $112.40 after the company announced a 9% increase in its quarterly dividend.

Fortis gained $0.17 to US$44.25 after the company announced a 6% increase in its quarterly dividend.
