U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning. S&P 500 futures were up 22 points in pre-opening trade.
The Canadian Dollar was virtually unchanged at US83.13 cents following release of Canada's March GDP report at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus was a month-to-month increase of 1.0% versus a gain of 0.4% in March. Actual was an increase of 1.1%
Crude oil gained $2.28 to a three year high at $68.60 per barrel prior to an OPEC meeting starting today that will determine production quotas by its members.
Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS Cdn$81.21) is expected to open higher after reporting higher than consensus fiscal second quarter earnings.
Canopy Growth (WEED Cdn$30.25 ) is expected to open higher after reporting a 38% increase in fourth quarter revenues.
Boeing gained $4.53 to $251.55 after Cowen upgraded the stock from Market Perform to Outperform.

Canadian oil service stocks also are responding to higher crude oil and natural gas prices. Trican Well Services $TCW.CA moved above $2.35 extending an intermediate uptrend.
