U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning. S&P 500 futures were up 15 points in pre-opening trade.
Index futures were virtually unchanged following release of the February Housing Starts report at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus was a slip to 1.218 million units from upwardly revised 1.270 million units in January. Actual was 1.162 million units.
Bed Bath & Beyond gained $2.56 to $16.42 after Raymond James upgraded the stock to Strong Buy from Buy. According to the Wall Street Journal, three activist investors are looking to replace the Board of Directors.
Merck (MRK $82.35) is expected to open higher after JP Morgan raised its target price to $85 from $80.
NVidia (NVDA $173.78) is expected to open higher after Pipe Jaffray initiated coverage with an Overweight rating.
