Mondelez (MDLZ), an S&P 100 stock moved above $59.98 to an all-time high extending an intermediate uptrend. The stock responded to higher than consensus quarterly results.

Pre-opening Comments for Wednesday April 28th

U.S. equity index futures were mixed this morning. S&P 500 futures were unchanged in pre-opening trade.

The Canadian Dollar was virtually unchanged at US80.70 after release of Canadian February Retail Sales at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus was a gain of 4.0% versus a decline of 1.1% in January. Actual was a gain of 4.6%. Excluding auto sales, consensus was an increase of 3.7% versus a drop of 1.2% in January. Actual was an increase of 4.8%

Alphabet (GOOGL) added $102.01 to $2,393.00 after reporting higher than consensus first quarter results.

Microsoft dropped $8.57 to $253.42 despite reporting higher than consensus first quarter results

Shopify (SHOP) advanced $63.11 to US$1,220.00 after reporting higher than consensus first quarter revenues and earnings.

Amgen dropped $12.60 to $242.53 after reporting lower than consensus first quarter results.
