U.S. equity index futures moved lower this morning. S&P 500 futures were down 5 points in pre-opening trade.
Index futures were virtually unchanged following release of the May Consumer Price Index report at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus was an increase of 0.1% versus a gain of 0.3% in April. Actual was an increase of 0.1%. Excluding food and energy, consensus for the May Consumer Price Index was an increase of 0.2% versus a gain of 0.1% in April. Actual was an increase of 0.1%.
Boeing (BA $349.33) is expected to open lower following news that relaunch of the 737 Max will be delayed until at least December.
State Street (STT $) is expected to open lower after Raymond James lowered its target price on the stock to $68 from $84
Energy stocks are expected to open lower after the price of WTI crude oil dropped another $1.43 to $51.84 per barrel in overnight trading.
Marsh & McLennan (MMC $98.48) is expected to open lower after Keefe Bruyette downgraded the stock to Market Perform from Outperform.
