Teck's QB2 copper project more than 50% complete, on track for H2 2022

Work to complete the Quebrada Blanca Phase 2 (QB2) copper project in northern Chile has gone past the halfway point and is on track for first production in the second half of 2022, majority owner Teck Resources has said.

The project has been delayed after being temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but work has resumed and went beyond 50% complete this month, the company said.
QB2 is expected to have average copper-equivalent production of 316,000 tonnes per year during its first five full years in operation.
