The "jet-like speed, highly efficient fuel consumption and low carbon emissions" of the 76-seat Q400 Q Series turboprop is expected by the company to give it an edge in one of the world's biggest FIFO markets, servicing current and new passenger operations in regional and remote locations.

Cobham CEO Ryan Both said: "Cobham customers invest significantly and often in new technology at their mine sites. It is fantastic that we can complement this investment with newer generation high-reliability aircraft for their operations. Less delays means more production, it's that simple."
