Based in Toronto, Andrew is Deloitte's Canadian Leader for Mining & Metals, and its Global Consulting Leader for Mining & Metals.

Andrew emphasizes the need for miners to improve strategies regarding the emerging technologies of analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to boost operational performance and to better manage risk. Other topics include water and power usage, changes in corporate social responsibility (CSR), and the evolving workforce.

The podcast begins with an update on Vale's Feijao tailings spill disaster in Brazil, which at the time of recording had left 84 dead and 276 missing, most of whom were Vale employees.
