Global iron ore markets are under great stress in the wake of Vale's horrific tailings-dam disaster near Brumadinho in Brazil, which has resulted in 10% of the world's iron ore production being removed from the market.

Iron ore expert Matt Simpson, co-founder and CEO of junior Black Iron (TSX: BKI; US-OTC: BKIRF) and CEO of merchant bank Forbes & Manhattan, joins the podcast to explain the new landscape for iron ore markets worldwide.

Matt also updates us on developments with Black Iron's Shymanivske iron ore project in Ukraine, where the company has signed a milestone financing and offtake MOU with supermajor Glencore (LON: GLEN) to help develop the project.

He further explains Ukraine's current geopolitical situation in this interview recorded on Feb. 28, 2019.
