(IDEX Online) - Thieves smashed their way into a jeweler's store from an adjoining bakery, drilled into the safe and made off with a $200,000 haul.Staff arrived on Monday morning to find a gaping hole in the wall at Torquay Jewellers, in Torquay, a seaside resort in south-west England. Nothing appeared to have been taken in the weekend raid, until they realized the triple-skinned safe, containing the entire window display, had been virtually emptied. The raiders had cut two holes through from the rear wall so there were no signs it had been looted until workers opened it.Shop manager Chris Bazeley told local news website DevonLive: "It was a horrible shock - it looked like a scene from a movie. I expected to find Brad Pitt and a film crew hidden on the other side." The thieves took gold, diamond and ruby earrings; diamond bracelets; gold and jeweled pendants; gold rings with precious stones and gold antique jewelry.Pic shows Torquay Jewellers
