(Kitco News) - The most advanced physical portal to the digital world, a 3Dphotographic scanner was recently debuted in Dubai. The structure weighs oneand a half tons, and uses 200 of Sony's newest generation cameras, with some cameraseven placed below the floor. "This islike ‘star gate.' You walk in and you enter a new universe," said Robert Gryn, Founderand CEO of Metahero, describing the scanner.

Gryn and David Lin, Anchor at Kitco News, spoke in theactual photo scanner at the Future Blockchain Summit in Dubai. Gryn is also apartner of Wolf Digital World.

Gryn explained the way the scanner works. "It takes a 100thof a second to take a photo from all angles if you stand in the middle. We thencompile a gigantic file, ultra HD resolution of yourself, an avatar," Gryn said."Our overarching goal is to build the largest database of scanned objects andpeople in the world for the metaverse, for this fourth industrial revolution."The metaverse is a virtual-reality space in which users can interact within acomputer-generated environment, and other users.

Gryn described how this 3D scan can be used in gaming. "With your avatar, you could upload yourself inthe GTA Six, play as yourself running around the city or doing whatever youlike. Furthermore, you could license your avatar and allow game developers touse you as a character in games. You can make a profit on your scan that youinitially paid for," Gryn said.

The cost of the scan is $200, and it can scan 150,000 peoplea year. "You pay for a scan,
and then you start profiting from your scan being used in gamingor medicine or anything. It's up to you if want to do that, unless you have aprivacy issue, but we are going to open up the possibility for anyone to createa passive income by getting scanned," Gryn explained.

Besides gaming, the photo scans will have endless uses, Grynemphasized. "The metaverse will be one thing, but you will be able to use thesescans for fashion, and medicine. The metaverse essentially will becomesomething that unifies all digital worlds into one seamlessly," he said.

"Inevitably, it will all come together, and you will be ableto go from one game to another in a digital physical space," Gryn added. "Itwill be the new frontier of the internet, and manifested as a digitalrepresentation of the real thing."

Calling himself a cryptopreneur, Gryn spoke about theMetahero Token he launched recently as the exclusive currency for all transactionsfor his company. "You will be able to transact with the Metahero token withinour whole ecosystem, this gigantic database of objects, people and everything,"Gryn said.
