RAPAPORT... Three major Las Vegas trade shows have joined forces to holdtheir 2019 exhibitions at the same location to make attendance easier forbuyers. The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) Gem Fair, the LasVegas Antique Jewelry and Watch Show, and Premier will all take place atthe Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) from May 30 to June 3, the organizers ofthe events said Wednesday. Visitors will be able to get into all three showswith one badge and one entrance fee. The joint initiative, called "The Collective," will alsoinclude a combined marketing campaign highlighting the LVCC as a mainattraction during show week. The industry traditionally congregates in theNevada city that week for several trade fairs, most notably JCK Las Vegas. "We felt that it was imperative to have a consistent messagewith which we can promote the LVCC as a whole," said Douglas Hucker, CEO of AGTA. "By establishing 'The Collective,' we are conveying toretailers and designers that the LVCC is a comprehensive, one-stop-shop venuefor all of their buying needs, and we are reiterating the message that ourthree co-located shows are collectively creating a powerful shift in thelandscape of Las Vegas market week."
