Tight supply continues to support European ferro-chrome markets

Prices of all grades of ferro-chrome in Europe went up in the pricing session on Tuesday March 30 in response to limited supply, while demand has also risen in some sections of the market, Fastmarkets has heard.

Fastmarkets' price assessment for ferro-chrome, high carbon, 6-8.5% C, basis 65-70% Cr, max 1.5% Si, delivered Europe, rose by $0.05 per lb Cr (3.70%) to $1.25-1.45 per lb Cr on Tuesday, from $1.20-1.40 per lb Cr a week earlier.

The corresponding price assessment for ferro-chrome, high carbon, 6-8.5% C, basis 60-70% Cr, max 1.5% Si, delivered Europe, also rose by $0.05 per lb Cr (3.70%) to $1.25-1.45 per lb Cr on Tuesday, from $1.20-1.40 per lb Cr previously.
