Tighter Turkish rebar supply boosts Singapore import prices

A tighter supply of rebar in the Singapore import spot market has led market prices to increase significantly in the past week, industry sources in the island state told Fastmarkets.

"Turkey is extremely short of material for export after they concluded deals for large quantities to south America in recent weeks so any Singaporean buyer will be hard pressed to get good prices for rebar now," a buyer source in Singapore said on Friday October 30.
Singaporean buyers said they would need to pay at least $480 per tonne cfr Singapore to get any imported materials.
