Transnet reopens Saldanha iron ore and manganese transportation channel early

South African state transport operator Transnet has reopened the railway transportation route for iron ore and manganese deliveries to Saldanha port earlier than expected, the company announced on Monday December 10.

Transnet had to declare force majeure on deliveries when a railway bridge on the route was damaged on November 28 due to a collision. This prompted leading manganese ore miners to declare force majeure on their own deliveries. The operator initially...
