Trigon restarts production at the Kombat copper mine in Namibia

(Kitco News) - Trigon Metals (TSXV:TM)announced today that the Kombat copper mine in Namibia officially resumedproduction after 14 years of closure.

Trigon has successfullyrestarted the Kombat mine with a successful blast in the Kombat open pit thismorning at 11:30 a.m. Namibia time, the company said in a statement.

The Kombat project is comprisedof three mining licences, which produced approximately 12.46 million tonnes of copperbetween 1962 and 2008, at a grade of 2.62%.

The other two mining licencesare within close proximity to Kombat at Gross Otavi and Harasib, which thecompany believes to be highly prospective for lead and zinc.

President and CEO JedRichardson commented, "Today marks a momentous milestone; for Trigon, thecommunity of Kombat and country of Namibia, and of course our valuedshareholders. Special thanks to our team for their diligence in moving the companyforward to this great day."

Trigon is a publicly tradedCanadian exploration and development company with its core business focused oncopper and silver holdings in mine-friendly African jurisdictions. Currently thecompany has operations in Namibia and Morocco.
