Trump asks officials to draft possible trade deal with China - Bloomberg

Nov 2 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump wants to reachan agreement with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Group of20 nations summit in Argentina later this month, Bloombergreported on Friday, citing four people familiar with the matter.


Trump has asked key U.S. officials to begin draftingpotential terms, Bloomberg said, addingthat the push for a possible deal with china was prompted by histelephone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday.


Trump and Xi both expressed optimism about resolving theirbitter trade disputes ahead of a high-stakes meeting planned forthe two leaders at the end of November in Argentina. (Reporting by PhilipGeorge in Bengaluru; Editing by GopakumarWarrier)
